I started planning my first TEDx event the day after they posted the initial TEDx announcement on the blog. I am now organizing my third. I now co-host the monthly learning series webinars (although Jason Wishnow continues to find a alternative description) with Julianne Wurm from TEDxEast. While my day job affords me a decent lifestyle, my TEDx work keeps my intellect from shriveling up introduces someone interesting to me every day.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.
