Mike is the curator of TEDxKC. He joined VML’s Applied Technology Group in May 2005 as Director of Creative Technology. With 25 years of high tech experience and executive-level management, marketing and product development experience, Mike serves clients as diverse as Microsoft, Ford, adidas, SAP and Colgate—offering thought leadership and strategic insight on emerging trends, key technologies and discontinuous innovations.

Prior to joining VML, Mike worked for GE, Apple Computer, Iomega, and as an independent consultant for media and technology companies serving several multi-platinum recording artists (such as Aerosmith and Christina Aguilera).

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.
