Mark Dewey

TEDxAmericasFinestCityWomen, Organizer

Born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, CA, Mark Dewey is a below average skier/snowboarder and in the summer months enjoys fishing in the back-country of the high sierras. Today, Mark has made San Diego California his home, working with a large angel investment group and a venture capital firm specializing in information technology and life sciences. Mark also participates in feasibility studies and commercialization strategy workshops with start-ups and college tech-transfer offices around the country. He is an advocate for social entrepreneurship, the founding organizer of TEDxAmericasFinestCity in San Diego and is currently a board member of the San Diego Coastal Rotary Club.

Though below average in snow sports, I’ll bet your TEDxWomen event in San Diego will be a well above average Xperience for your attendees!

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
