Douglas Coleman

TEDxRiversideAvondaleWomen, Organizer

For several decades Doug has played a significant role in making Jacksonville a more livable city. He won wide acclaim as chairman of the group that organized the Riverside Arts Market, as well as the founder and director of the RAM Art Gallery. He began his professional career with Pan American World Airways, followed by National Airlines, Beaches Travel Service, Travel Consultants, Inc., Avondale Travel, and finally Coleman Travel Corporation and Coleman Ski Tours. Now retired, Doug currently serves as a board member and/or officer of the North Florida Land Trust, the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association, Riverside Avondale Preservation, and the epoch project. Doug served as Chair of the Host Committee for the World Conference of Sister Cities (Jacksonville, July 11-14, 2012). Doug is an artist and a sailor, who with his wife crossed the Atlantic and sailed on to 16 European countries and Turkey. He is also a skier who founded the Jacksonville Ski Club in 1969.
