TEDxTrondheim, Organizer

I’ve been watching TED talks since 2007 and I’ve probably watched over 700 by now. Last year, I started organizing weekly discussions with students in my Industrial Ecology Masters program at NTNU, based on TED videos. This year, I got involved with the TEDxTrondheim team, and I now help plan and organize monthly TEDxTrondheim events that engage the general public. Our goal is to create a strong community of people passionate about TED, in the lead up to the big TEDxTrondheim event next year.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives.
