TEDXWomen 2012: Overview & Helpful Links

Welcome to our new readers, who are visiting TEDxWomen.org for the first time. And for our returning community, here are some helpful links all in one place.

TEDxWomen 2012 will once again turn the spotlight on the ideas of women and girls when we gather in Washington D.C. on November 30 & December 1 for the third conference in our series that has sparked a vibrant ongoing conversation about women and girls worldwide who challenge and redefine the traditional rules and roles ascribed to women and men, girls and boys.

Our theme for 2012 is The Space Between, which will deepen the conversation we started at our previous conferences—how women are less likely to approach subjects from a black-or-white perspective as they see the gray area in between. There is a curiosity in wanting to explore what is in between extremes, to gain the big picture and find the areas where we need more understanding and perhaps compromise. Women know that this is where life happens—the places in between. TEDxWomen 2012 is hosted by Pat Mitchell, president and CEO, The Paley Center for Media.

Could someone please e -mail my address to clue me in about the registration process for this next months Tedx event.I was only recently made aware of the community and i would like to register for the event if it is offered online.Also,does anyone know if there is a registration fee?(lovelyarehorses@gmail.com)

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

About TED
