Dispatches from TEDGlobal: Final Day
TEDGlobal ended with some incredible women’s bright ideas and critical voices on everything from whistle blowing to cancer treatment to online rock concerts. Here are some of our favorite quotations:
Mina Bissell, a cancer researcher, shared her outside-the-box approach to breast cancer research. She also said, “Arrogance kills curiosity.”
Margaret Heffernan, leadership expert & entrepreneur, talked about the importance of conflict within organizations. Her wisdom was stunning: “Collaboration require thinking partners that aren’t echo chambers.”
And Daria Musk, a young woman who evolved a way of doing international concerts for thousands using Google+, finished the day on a bright note: “I toured the world in one night. I have 1.6 million reasons to believe that none of us are alone. That kind of connection is our newest human right.”
We feel the same way about our TEDxWomen community and look forward to “touring the world” with you November 30/December 1.
