TEDxWomen organizers gather in Doha
TEDxWomen Organizers met for the first time together Tuesday in the incredible Katara Arts Center in Doha, Qatar, at the TEDxSummit. Surrounded by ocean and the arts of Doha, it was a beautiful chance to meet face-to-face and share experiences and ideas for TEDxWomen this coming year.

The bottom line was that everyone feels the TEDxWomen experience is vital to keeping local women’s communities vibrant and cohesive, not just once a year, but through out. It’s also a rare opportunity to feel connected to our sisterhood globally.
The organizers expressed wanting ever more interactivity–ways to connect across boundaries of race, class, geography, religion, professions etc. One idea we floated was to have “ladies salons” throughout the year–sort of like virtual ladies nights out!
Never fear–you don’t have to be in Doha to connect with us! If you have other ideas–whether it’s themes you’d like to see incorporated into next year’s program, speakers you are dying to hear, or ways that local organizers might galvanize and keep their communities going through out the year, please leave them in comments!

Thank you so much for the conversations at the TEDxSummit. It was great to get the clarity that one needed regarding the event and most importantly to see how our feedback was being valued and taken into consideration for your planning session was enlightening. Thank you very much – Jessica Tandy – TedxJozi

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet other TEDxWomen organisers and TED staff involved in TEDxWomen. Thank you TED for the opportunity to convene in Doha for the TEDxSummit and I really look forward to the event and further collaboration in 2012!!
